‘FIRST IN EUROPE’ CANCER EQUIPMENT DELIVERED TO NEWCASTLE

Knoxville, Tennessee, January 23, 2012 - ABT Molecular Imaging, Inc. a molecular imaging company and manufacturer of the “Dose on Demand” Biomarker Generator which provides researchers and clinicians access to PET biomarkers on demand, today announced the appointment of Professor Bengt Langstrom to its Board of Directors.

“ABT is thrilled that Professor Langstrom has agreed to join our Board of Directors. Bengt’s experience and stature in the PET community will be a tremendous asset to ABT as we continue to expand the flexibility of the Biomarker Generator to produce additional PET biomarkers and increase our research and development efforts into the Carbon-11 arena”, said Dr. Ron Nutt, ABT’s Chairman.

Bengt Langstrom is currently Professor at Uppsala University, where he had served as the Director of Uppsala University PET Centre, Imperial College of London and The University of South Denmark. He has over 30 years of experience in the synthesis and applications of PET radiochemistry. His publications exceed 350 in chemistry journals and over 450 in life sciences and medicine. He has received several awards for his research and recently was awarded the Society of Nuclear Medicine’s Georg Charles de Hevesy Nuclear Pioneer Award for his contributions to the nuclear medicine profession in 2010.

Tom Welch, President and CEO, said, “Professor Langstrom’s success in the PET field in both academic and commercial settings will offer ABT valuable perspective in many areas including ABT’s technology and regulatory strategies.”

About ABT Molecular Imaging

ABT Molecular Imaging has developed a Generator which produces unit doses of molecular imaging drugs for positron emission tomography (PET) eliminating the need for chemistry and physics knowhow. The Generator consists of a small positive ion cyclotron, a micro-chemistry unit and an automated Quality Control Module. Historically, the production of PET drugs required significant technology infrastructure, expense and made it necessary for the staff to be exposed to significant radiation doses. Generally these issues have limited the use of PET to large academic medical centers and pharmaceutical manufacturers in specific geographies. The company was founded in 2006 by industry experts in the molecular imaging industry.
