Tom Welch, Director, President and CEO

Tom WelchMr. Welch, joined ABT as the President and CEO of ABT Molecular Imaging, Inc. in December 2009. Prior to joining ABT, Mr. Welch was the CEO of PETNET Solutions, Inc., a division of Siemens Medical Solutions, Inc. Mr. Welch helped PETNET grow from 12 to over 50 radiopharmacies in his 11 years with PETNET to become the world’s largest manufacturer and distributor of PET radiopharmaceuticals located in four countries with drug manufacturing licenses on three continents. Prior to joining PETNET in 1998, Mr. Welch led the financial team of a start-up technology company, Celerity Systems, Inc., which subsequently held an initial public offering in October 1997. Mr. Welch began his career with Coopers & Lybrand, LLP in 1992. Mr. Welch conducted his undergraduate and graduate work at the University of Tennessee, receiving his MBA in 2005.

 

Ken Olson, Vice President, Research and Development

Ken OlsonMr. Olson joined ABT as the Vice President of R&D at the beginning of the 2011. He is responsible for the research and new product development. Mr. Olson has enjoyed an outstanding career in the medical device industry. For the past five years, he was Vice President of R&D for Medtronic Physio-Control. Prior to that, he was the Chief Technical Officer of Cardiac Science after being one of the initial employees for Survivalink Corporation.

Mr. Olson holds more than 35 patents in the area of medical and high technology products, and has multiple U.S. and international patents pending.

He received an MBA from Carlson School of Management and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, where he has served on the Dean’s Advisory Board with the Institute of Technology. He recently retired from the Board of Directors for Reell Precision Manufacturing.

 

John Greiner, Vice President, Operations

John GreinerMr. Greiner joined ABT as the Vice President of Operations at the beginning of the 2011. He previously led the Product Inspection Division of the UK based Smith Detection business as General Manager and Director of Operations. This global Smiths Detection division produced capital X-ray and FTIR inspection equipment for inspection of manufactured products and for homeland security applications. Prior to that, Mr. Greiner was the Plant Manager of a large injection molding and extrusion plant and distribution center for Newell Rubbermaid. He began his career nearly 20 years ago as an Electrical Engineer for Kimberly-Clark Corporation. With Kimberly-Clark, he led Engineering and Operations teams within the Health Care Division and multiple medical device plants as well as supported acquisition and integration activities of several medical device companies.

Mr. Greiner received an Executive MBA from the University of Tennessee and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology where he served as the student advisor for the curriculum committee for the school of Electrical Engineering.

 

Robert Vincill, Vice President, Finance

Robert VincillMr. Vincill joined ABT as the Vice President of Finance in February 2010. Prior to joining ABT, he held financial leadership positions across diverse industries with companies ranging in size from VC-backed pre-revenue to Fortune 1000 companies. Mr. Vincill has over 19 years of domestic and international finance, accounting, and business experience including three years with CTI Molecular Imaging, Inc. His experience includes a successful IPO, equity financing, and numerous M&A transactions. He began his career as a CPA with Coopers & Lybrand LLP. Mr. Vincill received a BS in Accounting from East Tennessee State University.

 

Michael Nazerias, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance

Michael NazeriasMr. Nazerias joined ABT as the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance in March 2011. For the past 10 years, he worked in various RA/QA roles for Siemens Molecular Imaging and most recently over the PETNET Solutions, Cyclotron Solutions and Biomarker Research business units. Prior to that, he was with DeRoyal Industries where he served as QA Manager for two divisions. In addition, he has worked in various roles for International Technology (IT) Corporation and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Mr. Nazerias has over 10 years of experience in the PET Drug regulatory environment. He has direct experience working with the FDA and has successfully submitted the first commercially approved drug application for FDG.

Michael received an MS and BS from East Tennessee State University. He recently served on the Board of Directors for CORAR (Council on Radionuclides and Radiopharmaceuticals).

 

Rick Rippin, Sales Director

Rick RippinMr. Rippin joined ABT as Sales Director in late 2009 to establish a worldwide sales infrastructure for the “Dose on Demand” Biomarker Generator.  Mr. Rippin has over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing in the diagnostic imaging industry.  Prior to his role at ABT, he managed Molecular Imaging Sales with Siemens Medical Solutions, Toshiba America Medical Systems, and Naviscan.   Mr. Rippin received his BS Degree from Towson University, and Nuclear Medicine Degree from Johns Hopkins University.
